Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has been recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (HCMA), placing it among an elite group of hospitals nationwide and making it one of only four centers in Florida and the only one on the West Coast of Florida to achieve this distinction.

This designation reflects TGH’s commitment to world-class cardiovascular care and builds on its reputation as one of the nation’s leading heart programs. U.S. News & World Report ranks Tampa General Hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for Cardiology & Heart Surgery, underscoring its leadership in advanced heart care.

“This recognition speaks to the strength of our multidisciplinary approach,” said Dr. Robby Wu, Director of the HCM Program at Tampa General Hospital and Assistant Professor at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. “Our team combines cutting-edge diagnostics, innovative therapies, and personalized care to improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. TGH’s program offers comprehensive care, including advanced imaging, genetic counseling, medical management, and surgical interventions.

Dr. Ben Mackie, Vice President and Co-Chief of Tampa General’s Heart & Vascular Institute, added:
