Detrah DuBose, APN, BC

Director of Client Services

Ms. DuBose is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 29 years of experience, specializing in cardiology and cardiac surgery. She previously served as an instructor at Rutgers College of Nursing, where she developed the Simulation Lab and led the reorganization of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

For the past 18 years, she has been a valued member of Atlantic Health. During her tenure, she has played a key role in the development of several innovative programs at Morristown Medical Center, including the Chanin T. Mast Center for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, as well as Sports Cardiology and Cardio-Oncology services.

Currently, Ms. DuBose is involved in the development and launch of the ALLTOP clinical research study, which focuses on screening patients with severe hypercholesterolemia (LDL-C > 160 mg/dL). This study provides comprehensive care, in collaboration with primary care providers and cardiologists, to help patients reduce cholesterol levels and identify familial hypercholesterolemia when present.

Ms. DuBose is also deeply committed to advancing health equity and delivering culturally appropriate care. She is passionate about addressing disparities in cardiovascular health by improving access to screening, education, and treatment for underserved populations. Her work emphasizes patient-centered approaches that respect cultural differences, promote trust, and ensure that care is both inclusive and equitable.
