I am still waiting to hear from my son in Missouri but I had a question about reading his defibulator. Once a defibulator is read by a Medtronic Technician, is that information they read gone. If they read it there in Missouri, when he gets home would the tech here in Georgia be able to see the same events. I didn't know if the data is stored from the time it is put in or everytime it is read is it wiped out.

With me not being with him I am afraid they will not get the print out and then the doctors here may not be able to see what exactly happened. I am just trying to understand how it works when it is read.

Thanks for the info!! Janet

It should be held in the memory - however it can be cleared. Make sure you get a print out of the event.

ICD tech don't seem to mind requests for a copy of the printout. They'll run another printout for you and it only takes a few seconds.

Best wishes--I know this must be *hard*!!!

I always ask the tech (whoever is reading it) to print an extra copy for me to save....because they seem to almost always clear my memory...
