I was just a patient in St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN. I was admitted to have tests done (ekg, x-ray, etc.) on Thursday, Feb 24th, then have my ICD tested (the ole' shock).
As I was talking to some of the nurses in the Cath Lab, they told me there are a lot of people with the ICD that is being recalled. She was very sympathic for those that had to have it done.
Fortunately, I am not one and my check-up went well.
The doctor that I spoke to told me that when I first had my ICD tested, they couldn't get my heart to go into A-Fib, so they had to use a battery. This procedure is not normal. I never knew that they did that until he told me.
I should have asked what is the correct procedure to use, but I didn't. Does anyone know?
Now, I'm good for another year :D
