Does Anyone Know About Barnes-Jewish Hospital?

My mom and I both have HCM, and my mom just found out today that she's going to have to get the myectomy (not able to get the ablation because of a blood clot on the heart). The Cardiologist that was going to do the ablation originally suggested two doctors to her, one at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO and one at Missouri Baptist Hospital, also in St. Louis, MO. Does anyone know anything about either of these hospitals?

I'd be cautious getting a myectomy from a center that hasn't done a LOT of myectomies. My best advice is to call the HCMA office at 973-983-7429 tomorrow. Lisa Salberg will be there and can tell you about which specialists might be best for your mom and you.

I'm glad you've found us. You can learn a lot here and we have a wonderful support system. Don't jump into any surgeries until you know what you're up against.
