My beloved sister passed away in her sleep
a week ago Wednesday, July 21, 2004. They
did an autoposy being she passed away at
home. She had an enlarged heart. I told
the coroner about our family history of
hypertrophic cardiomypathy. I was diagnosed
in 1997. It comes from my mother's side of
the family. My sister was 51 and left behind
two children ages 14 and 12.

My sister had none of the sytoms that I have
so she assumed she didn't have it. Because
of this she would not get checked out. She
was tired but she figured it was due to raising
children alone and a stressful job. She had
none of the swollen ankles, dizziness, shortness
of breath. But now she is gone.........

If someone in your family refused to get checked
out, please have them read this note. Thanks.

Janiceland, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm in the same situation where I can't get my husband's brother to take this HCM thing seriously and get tested. Welcome to the HCMA. Have your sister's children been tested?

My prayers are with you and your family. If my sister doesn't keep her promise to talk with her PCP tomorrow and Lisa on Tuesday, I'll send her this! Thanks for taking the time to care about others at the time of your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear about you're loss. My heart aches for you. I had to remind my daughter to have an echo, thankfully she went last week. I know how stubborn some can be.
You are in my prayers for comfort and strength.
