The heart pumps 5 liters of blood through the body
The heart beats over 100,000 times a day.
The heart pumps up to 2.5 billion times in an average lifetime
The heart is about the size of your fist
An average heart rate for men is 70-72 beats per minute
An average heart rate for women is 78-82 beats per minute

i paced 178 times since february...

seems like a lot but my heart has beat 17,750,785 or so also too.
(don't worry, some SVT was in there)
So in comparison, the pacing doesn't seem that much does it?

I had a patient once running at 250 and was still conscious. The paramedic I was with gave him a med started with an "A". It actually stops your heart for a few seconds kinda like a reset button.

Wanna look death in the eyes watch someone when you give them that med. It is freaky.

Oh yeah, piece of advice for you youngins going into the medical field esp. Emergency. Never wear your stethoscope around your neck it is an easy device to get choked with. EXPERIENCE trust me
