My entire life, I've tended to get what seems like some kind of an illness when I'm trying to be active, the way a normal person would be. Holding down a regular office job was too much for me. Even if other things seemed to be OK, I'd feel like I was moving through molasses, and the lymph glands in my forhead and below my eyes would visibly swell. My underarms would be painfully swollen. This would always be worse by evening.

Now, I'm trying to be more active, and sometimes this syndrome catches up with me. I am legally disabled, and need a lot of rest. I need to take Wed and Sundays as total rest days or this reaction starts up.

Is it related to my HCM heart? Does this sounds familiar to others on this board?

My GP says that it sounds like a stress reaction and that he has heard of people having these signs if they over-exercise. I said that I get this when I'm not doing so very much. He feels with my many health issues, maybe I get this at low levels of activity.

As Gilda Radner said, "It's always something!"

Hi Liona,
I don’t know how helpful this will be, but you posted for me so I thought I would do what I can. I have no experience with the lymph glands other then the rare garden variety swelling from time to time, but I did locate this website for whatever it’s worth.

Interestingly this is something I hear frequently from those with HCM. I can not say if it is related or not, but it may be. I hope we learn more and if there is a connection we find treatments to deal with it.

Be well,
Lisa
