NEED Help!

I know that probably none of you have had a pulmonary embolism. But I know quite a few of you are on blood thinners.

When I was discharged yesterday I asked the doc about coughing up blood and things like that. He said it was normal. When I was last on coumadin I never coughed up blood.

This is the third day in a row I have coughed up blood and my chest feels really congested. Is this something I should be worried about. They only thing they told me to look out for was chest pain, sob, and fatigue. Hello! I have HCM. I didn't know I had a clot until the ER becuase the symptoms were almost exactly the same except for diaphoresis.

What should I do!

this says that you have to evaluate how much blood and what kind of blood.

i would page that doctor and discuss the blood, especially since it has been going on for several days.

be sure to talk to someone about it today. i know how crappy your ER is, so I'm hoping you don't have to go.

Mary - call the doctor and explain - -how much blood - the tone of the color and let him be the guide.
