I find the most frustrating thing in dealing with HCM, is the balance of meds and finding which ones work for you. What is the maximum dose of verapamil you can take? I'm giving Dr. M a call tomorrow. I am not taking well with the addition of atenolol. Do anti-arrythimics make you tired? I wish they had the magic answer. I felt really good when I was on a little lower dose of just the verapamil...but then the #@$@ AFIB kicked in again :(

Everyone is different. I know it took over 6 months to find the drug that worked for me. I was on Isoptin for q quite a few years and then they switched me to metropol L 100 mg twice a day. My daughter who was just diagnosed in May of 2003 takes Nadolol 40 mg once a day. She was tired for the first little bit but has adjusted well.
