My husband lost his grandmother early this morning. She was 91 and had been sick. Finally her heart couldn't keep up any more. It was too weak to respond to the pacemaker. Please pray that the family finds peace in that she isn't suffering. Thanks.

Reenie, I am sorry for your familys loss. I know it is hard, but the best thing in these times is to look back on the great things in her91 years of live. Your husband is one of the great things that would not have happened if it was not for her. You are all in my prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We had the funeral yesterday. As sad as the occasion was, it was nice for my husband to reunite with cousins he hadn't seen in 20 years. AND, a big AND for me... I got to discuss HCM with at least one of the families. Grandma had HCM, she's my husband's genetic link. We know that at least the oldest 4 of 8 children have "heart problems" and my husband is the only grandchild that we know of with HCM. Well, now at least a few more in the family understand what HCM is and that they can/should be tested for it, as well as their children. Keep your thoughts with me that I can talk to more of them over time.....

Reenie,
I was very sorry to read about your family's loss of your husband's 91 year old grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will continue to hold you in my thoughts as you go about the task of talking to the various members of your family about HCM.

Reenie I'm sorry I did not open this thread untill today when I saw Lisa's post about her aunt. My belated condolences to you and your family. Today 91 is not so old . My dad will be 87 next week and still does very well for his age and his mind and health is generally well . I know that time is being counted for him though and it is hard to think that one day in the future I will lose him. So certainly we feel as strong about their passing as if they were young. Peace be with you and your family. Pam
