I receive updates from a news service on "HCM". In Vietnam there is a city called HCM City. Today I recieve a news clipping from HCM City that I thought was very interesting - They are opening there first children heart center! So IF you are in HCM City - soon you will be able to find care for HCM (or heart disease in General..) in children - I thought that was interesting!

**Work on the first cardiology center for children in Vietnam is scheduled to
start next January in the Pediatrics Hospital.

***A total investment of $ 250,000 for the construction will be donated by the
South Korea Samsung Group.

***Vietnam reports an additional 500-700 children suffering from innate cardiac
diseases each year but few have received proper medical treatment, said the
hospital's Director, Nguyen Thanh Liem, in an interview with Tuoi Tre (HCM City
Youth) newspaper before flying to the foreign country to study experience on the
field.

***The hospital carried out first surgeries on heart valvular disease for
children in the country in September. Previously, such cases were conducted on
adult patients by the Vietnam-Germany Hospital in Hanoi and the Cho Ray Hospital
in Ho Chi Minh City.

***The cost for each operation is estimated to be VND20-25 million ($
1,290-1,613).

Lisa,

Just so you'll know - Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City after it was taken over by the Communists in April 1975.

This I knew... what I did not know is that it is refered to as HCM - rather than Ho Chi Minh City.
