I know that beta blockers are supposed to help with SOB, but I might be crazy....since my dose was increased, I feel just the opposite. I did a little experimenting (dont worry....would never skip a dose unless discussed with doctor). Anyway, there is this huge field that I take my dog for a walk around--try to get up there mornings. I usually take my first dose of Atenolol at 10:00 a.m. I've noticed that I get a little SOB maybe stopping once during my walk. If I don't take it before I take my walk, I can double the distance and not even have to stop for a few seconds. I did that this morning and felt more "normal" not taking it BEFORE my walk :? Are there any indications to the doctor that might be a possiblity that I'm taking too much? I don't know, this is driving me crazy

Definitely call your doctor. Nobody here is qualified to really answer your question. Let him know what's going on and let him figure it out.

Strangely, beta blockers made me worse, rather than better. Felt like I would faint if I had to walk a little quickly across the street. I guess we're just not all the same. Sue
