beta blockers & "extra beats"

are beta blockers supposed to eleviate "extra beats" (my former cardiologist used this term...If I remember correctly, when your heart fills up too fast and cause a tha-thump feeling

Cynthia, I posted a reply to your other post.
Beta blockers have never stopped mine and I still get it from time to time, but then I've been on them for over 30 years now so maybe if I stopped it would get worse????
My understanding is that is usually harmless.
