Hi everyone,

Been a while since I posted on this board. I have a question for anybody out there that has children with ADHD and also HCM.

They have been advertising the new medication for ADHD that is suppose to be a non-stimulant, which seems to me would be better then Adderall, Ritalin, or Concerta. The thing that bothers me is that in the commercial they say not to take it if you have a heart disease. How do you go about finding out what exactly they are refering too. My 14 year old has both and has been taking Adderall for years now. He was just diagnosed with HCM. Just looking for some feed back.

Dora, my only suggestion would be to talk to the doctor or the pharmacist. I don't know if anyone else would be qualified to answer your question.

I have spoken to doctors in the past and they have not mentioned any problems with any of the drugs for ADD or ADHD. I would talk to your own cardiologist and neurologist for more information.

Best wishes,
