I just read Waynes post about the V.A. changing his Meds. I just recieved my first package of prescriptions from the V.A. and was supprised too that 3 of the 7 were different than what I was taking. I would like to run these past you and would appreciate your thoughts.
Was taking Lipitor 10mg, 1 x day, now have Simvastatin 40mg tablet, 1/2 tablet 1 x day.
Was taking Toprol XL 50 mg tablet, 1/2 tablet 1 x day (=25mg a day) now have Metoprolol, 1/2 tablet 2 x day (=50mg day)
Was taking Enalapril Maleate 5mg tablet, 1 tablet 1 x day, now have Lisinopril 20mg tablets, 1/2 tablet 1 x day.
I know I should check with my doctor but he is on vacation, I can wait for him to get back.I also did some looking on other sites and have found conflicting info and info that is to confusing to understand. Thanks Tom

Tom, even tho you get your meds from the VA, you prob still have a local pharmacy that you use for one time RX's. Take all your meds and talk to the pharmacist there. Put in a call to your doctor so you can talk to him as soon as he gets back - keep him in the loop. You can search these things on the web and Sarah always answers with real good med info, but get to the real meat of the matter for you through your own pharmacy and doctor's office. Best wishes, Linda
