Not quite a year ago I had my myectomy at CCF (August 29th to be exact). I've been in cardiac rehab nearly 12 weeks as well. Here are 2 little things that are a victory and success for me.

Last week I took a walk with my 3 year old daughter and for the first time since I was even pregnant with her, I didn't have to stop and catch my breath.

Then this morning I planted a few flowers in my front yard (in the shade - :) ) and it only took me an hour to do it. Last year, it took me about 2.5 hours because I was so out of breath and every time I stood up from being bent over I had to wait for my vision to clear up (it would blacken out every time I stood up).

So, it's the little things I'm celebrating post-myectomy right now!

Lynn, nice to hear that, I have never had symptoms that bad, but from the ones I have had I can relate a little bit to having the weight taken off your heart. It's like a new lease on life.
Looks like it can only get better.

Lynn, what you have shared will certainly be an encouragement to those who are facing myectomy in the near future. Thanks! I'm so happy for you. Linda

Lynn - It is so encouraging to learn that you are now able to do more than you were able to before your myectomy. I pray that you will continue to improve beyond all your hopes and dreams.

Lynn,

Its moments like those that make all of this worthwhile. For me, it was climbing the steps to the parking garage after work. Before, when I got to the top, I had to stop and catch my breath. Now, I don't even think about it as I walk to my car.
