All right, I have a question. I reread the thread on seeing stars when you move too fast, bend over, just wake up, etc. My daughter, just turned 11, told me tonight that when she got out of the shower and dried off, she had a lot of bright lights twinkling and then everything grayed out and got black for about 30 seconds. Sound familiar yet? When I told her dad about it, he said he used to have that some too. He never thought much about it. He doesn't have the twinkling any more. I never knew he had ever had it. She was screened in September and was cleared for the time being for HCM and had a 30 day event monitor in Dec. for tachycardia. The cardio said that her tachycardia isn't anything unusual. Whatever that means. My question is whether or not I should ask for her have another echo now or if I am all right to let her wait until Sept. again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Reenie,

I think you know the answer to that question. The grey-out part is not good, and I wonder why tachycardia is being ignored by her doctor.

Please get her checked out and to a specialist.

And let us know....

S,

I made an appt for her for March 19. We'll find out more then. If it happens again before then we will insist on being seen sooner. The doctor who sees my husband sort of pooh-poohed me and said it's probably a vagal thing, but you can't ever be too sure. I'd rather have her checked out to be positive. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds very similar to things I had as a kid...and still do today...it may very well have other causes. BUT better safe then sorry...check it out.
