[Sotalol for AF and HOCM?]
Author: Rich Welsh (---.cache.pol.co.uk)

Hello,
Recently i had my second AF experience( 8 months after the first)...i was cardioverted the same day, and feel fine again.
The info from my original post back then was very helpfull this time around.
After Cardioversion my medication has changed from 50mg Atenolol to 160mg Sotalol...
Does anyone have any information about this drug?
I have been told it is better than atenolol for keeping the heart in normal rythym as well as the protection for Hocm'ers.
I have not been a regular reader of this site..... I think now i probably will be!

If you have trouble with these last two, go to intellihealth.com and do a search for betapace, and both links will come up (1st and 2nd).

Rich, I have been on 160 mg twice a dayof Sotalol for 6 years . I had Ventricular Fib. I also have an ICD that has never fired. My Dr's and myself figure the Sotalol must be keeping me in good rhythm. Good luck to you. Midge.
