After three full months on Multaq and an increased dosage of metropolol, I was excited to see the positive results on my propensity for NSVT last week when we did a full download.

Well...the news was not as good as I had hoped. I still had numerous runs of VT, however most were shortened in duration from what had been. So while I did not experience a radical difference there are some encouraging things to learn.

1. According to the stats, people who have NSVT a lot are at increased risk for SCD. So I am very thankful for my device, bumps and scars included!

2. I feel much better than I have since 2003 when I started on Betapace. I have a greater exercise tolerance with the newer med regimen and that feels good!

3. Not one beat of a-fib while on Multaq! Gotta love that.

The likelihood is that my device will fire some day. And while I am not looking forward to that on the one hand, knowing that there is a protective device within me is a very good thing. Have a great Christmas everybody.

Peace

Leon

Leon did they think that it has anything to do with your atria being so wide.. IS this progression something they see in people with history of paroxysmal a-fib and widening?

Just wondering as I have read that a-fib can set in motion V-Tach at any time. Even though you are not having a-fib is this what happens to some?

Hi Leon,

I am just learning stuff about VT or NSVT. Do you know or feel when you're having a short run of VT? Just my curiosity...

Glad to hear that you are feeling better on the new regime. Pretty wonderful. Having the protective device is a very good thing indeed ;).

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas too!

Take care,
Tom

Leon I forgot to do my download on the first and got phone call reminders. Just did it today and waiting for results. I hope it shows activity I had yesterday.
