Hello,
These are the medications I am on. When is the best time to take these morning or before sleep? It has been rough getting through the day at work due to fatigue and dizziness. I am in bed at 7:30 pm every night after working all day. Have any of you out there tried taking these meds at different times of the day? Maybe if I split them up I will be less tired? Any comments?
Thanks
Bob

Bob,
Are you taking the long-acting metoprolol (metoprolol succinate) or the vanilla kind (metoprolol tartrate)? Even if you're taking the long-acting version, it may be wise to break it into two doses; that's what I do.
I don't know anything about spironolactone, but I think there are also both short- and long-acting versions of verapamil; a scheme to minimize the problems you're having may depend on which version you're taking.

The only heart medication I take so far is Verapamil 240 mg ER (extended release).
I used to take it around 12:00 noon everyday, now I take it at night and I am less tired from it, my days feel a little better.

I split both my beta blocker and calcium channel blocker into two doses, morning and evening.

My wife, son, and daughter take (or took) the same meds for a number of years.
They usually took the majority of the meds at night. All of the meds were taken either once or twice a day. They took all the one-a-day meds at night and one of the two-a-days, and the other of the two-a-day meds in the morning. For them, the worst part of the fatigue associated with the meds usually happened a few hours after they took them, so taking them before bed worked well.
Their cardiologists at the Cleveland Clinic were OK with this approach.
Also, some patients develop a tolerance for the side effects after a few months. For the folks in my family, the worst part of the fatigue went away after several weeks.

Thanks to all the replies, the Verapamil is the only extended release I take. I will try taking the big doses at night before bed. Trying to move this stuff around to see if I can get some relief during work hours.
