I switched meds after seeing Dr. Maclellan at UCLA. So far it is not so good this is my third day on the new meds and i have had a continus headache making very hard to study for my finals. Also plenty of lightheadedness and dizziness. The symptoms are slowly fading but the headache remains. I am taking 25 mg twice a day

Hi Tyler
My daughter recently switched from atenolol to metoprolol. She is 16, and she is taking a higher dose than you (100mg per day), but she also had dizziness at first. It went away after a couple weeks. I hope you'll check back with your doctor if the headache doesn't go away.
Good luck with your finals!

It usually takes a while for meds to really affect (benefit) you, but their side effects should go away in a week or so. Give it a while, but let your doctor and pharmacist know.

How is it going?
I also take the 25mg twice a day. The only thing I've noticed is that I am sleepy a lot more and sleeping longer hours. Not too bad, but I hope it wears off someday. No doubt when it does my dose will be increased though. It's already been mentioned.
EDIT: About a month later... sure enough I'm up to 100mg a day now and I'm going to have to talk to my team about feeling more out of breath, having irregular beats, missing beats and even feeling whoosy... feeling quite curious what will come of the discussion.
