Finally got my appointment setup at the Stanford HCM clinic. They have me scheduled to get a echo ekg and blood work. Then meet with Dr. Ashley. I don't believe I have ever seen a HCM specialist. I really appreciate this site. It helped me realize I needed to see an expert and helped me find one. I look forward to seeing him but hope I don't get any bad news. I am a little nervous. Good thing is I no longer have to worry about the care I will be receiving. If anyone is a patient of Dr. Ashley and would like to share any experience with him please do. Thanks everyone

Dr. Ashley is not my MD, but he was at the HCMA meeting last month and I liked him very much. Young and knowledgable. I did meet some folks who do see him for care and they LOVE him, say he's a bit of a brainiac ! I don't think you will be disappointed. I think you will find a world of difference between a real HCM specialist and a good cardiologist. Let us know how it goes.

I also really like Dr. Ashley. Though he is not my doctor, I did refer one of my family members to him and they also like him alot. His nurse Heidi is great too. You are in good hands.

Hello
I had the great good fortune to meet Dr. Ashley last week at the HCM patient day at Stanford. He is very bright and personable, and will answer all your questions. You may also meet Dr. Wheeler, Heidi Salisbury, and Aleks Pavlovic(sp?), all wonderful folks at the HCM Center. The echo I had done was a big step up from my first one! I'm anxiously awaiting my report. Here is a little intro to Dr. Ashley:

I am so glad that I decided to get evaluated there!
Best of luck to you,
Barbara
