Finally get my ICD implanted tomorrow at Tuft's. Dr. Maron wants to do another stress echo prior to the ICD procedure. I have to say these HCM Centers are thorough. While Dallas was on track with the myectomy other things were caught by Dr. Maron to include the need for an ICD and the MRI showed severe scarring which could be the reasons for my symptoms. The big Kahuna (myectomy ) is scheduled for July 14 with Dr. Rastergar. The ICD will be a breeze compared to the big one. To all thanks for your support and understanding through out this ordeal.

Funny another post mentioned family members not accepting this disease. Have seen my extended family on several occasions during these last few weeks while on the east coast. I have heard it all about my condition from it's the humidity, you are getting old, we all have SOB, you need to breathe through your nose.. LOL (my mother in law). I come from a very healthy family and I guess it is hard for everyone to accept. You gotta laugh and kiss the ground every morning.

Hi Bob,
Laughing and kissing the ground is a good policy.

Hang in there . . . I know that none of this is fun, but you won't regret it.

Well it has been implanted and I am in recovery for the night. I am really impressed with Tufts great staff. Change of plans on my upcomming myectomy based on new tests. My case is very complex lucky I came to hcm center for sure. Looks like I am on the otherside of the fence with no obstruction but very severe scarring. More later need to rest on the iPod .

How did the implant go? I am going in next tuesday for mine.

obviously a little concerned with all the risk factors, but i know it is the right thing to do.

I wish you well.

Jeff,

It went great no problems. Tufts is a top notch place to have it. Dr. Link is on the ball and answers all of your questions. I was going back and forth on getting it but Dr. Maron explained all the benefits to me to help in my decision. A little sore but easy procedure.
