Annual Trip to Mayo...test question

I have my yearly HCM visit with Dr. Ommen in July scheduled. I received my testing information and times they occur today in the mail. I was suprised to see that I am doing all of the same tests I did last year- with the exception of the cardiac MRI because I now have an ICD. I am having a chest x-ray, blood test, EKG, Echo and an exercise test and see Dr. Ommen. Is this typical of annual visits? I guess I thought I would only have an echo, an EKG and of course see Dr. Ommen.

Yes. That is typical. Sometimes he will cancel the exercise test depending on what is going on in your visit since it is not scheduled until after you have seen him.

I go to Cleveland, but I assume the followup regimens are similar.

Last year was my 1-yr. post-myectomy followup, and I had the same regimen you've listed here. Very full day.

This year, for my 2-year, it's much shorter--EKG, Echo, consult with Dr. Lever. So maybe the stress echo, X-ray, etc., aren't as critical after the first year, or are spaced out more (every 2 or 3 yrs, etc.).
