How young is younger? The New York Times just ran an article about how Facebook is now for the over 40 set and that's it's largest growing segment. I know this personally because several of my aunts and other relatives just got on FB recently. Mostly to keep in touch with their kids, who are now in their 30's!

I guess Im all alone here....but I do not. I have two teenagers that do and they informed me that their friends who have parents that do have accounts on there are called "creepers"....sorry
Besides, Im a little leary about putting anything personal where anyone can see and or abuse it.

Facebook has privacy settings so that you can block varying levels of people from seeing your profile. Some people leave them open to the public and some people only let people they've added see them (for example, even though A. and I are both on FB, I wouldn't know it unless she added me as a Friend). You can do this on a granular level as well so that certain parts of FB only appear to certain groups, too.

Have you talked to your kids about their privacy settings and what they share?

Also, it is your choice to share or not share. You don't have to enter your b'day or relationship status or tell anyone where you are or anything. I have several friends who only use it like a fancy address book and to be polite. They never post any status messages, just friend people.

FB is whatever you make of it.

I have facebook also. I have kids also, I have not added them as "friends" so they can keep their privacy also. There is a lot of good networking on facebook, just like here. I always feel the more knowledge the better!
