We are leaving in a couple of hours for Mayo. My first appt is at 6:30 tomorrow morning for a blood draw and we are pretty much booked until 3:00 that afternoon.
I am so relieved to be going to an HCM speciality center but also nervous about what they will say or find going on with my heart. And of course I am worried about fitting in breakfast and lunch tomorrow as it appears most of my appts are back-to-back. LOL.

Sounds like you have your sense of humor back.. thinking of eating is a good thing in the midst of all the chaos and worry. So glad the day has almost arrived. Will be thinking of you..

Thanks, Pam. I am doing so much better with everything now. Though yesterday I had a pretty bad day, not sad or depressed, this time just really ticked off at all of this. I was bitter that at 37 I am worrying about my heart and why I have to be leaving my little boys for two days for testing and consults- I was ticked about HCM in general. Then I spoke to a close friend of mine who lost her one day old daughter a couple of years ago to Trisomy 18 and that put it in perspective for me. Her daughter couldn't be helped and she lost her......my condition is treatable. Why should I be ticked off when I am going to be getting the very best care there is out there for me?
Overall though, I think I am finally at the acceptance stage of all of this and am feeling like my old self and like I said to Mom the other day, recently most of the time I pretty much forget I have HCM. That is a good thing.
I will keep you posted on the outcome of Mayo.

You will probably have time between appointments to grab a bite in the cafeteria. I always think it is a good idea to have a power bar with me on a day with lots of doctor appts. in case you don't have time. In addition to the cafeteria, there is also a snack bar --I think that both are in the Gonda building.
