Here I am in Pittsburgh for the U.S. Transplant Games. I took the bronze medal yesterday in table tennis. These games are the best thing in the world for transplant recipients. Encouraging, emotional, just great. I have met a woman who had a heart transplant 19 years ago. Talk about miracles. I wanted to share this with my HCMA family. We leave here on Wed after closing ceremonies on Tues night. Thank you to my donor and the thousands of others and I am meeting a lot of them too.

Congratulations Mom! You know we are all proud of you. The boys can't wait to see Grandma's medal when you get home. They talked about it today in the car on the way home from the doctor. They also wanted to know who took fourth. LOL....

You are certainly an inspiration to all of us that have gone through a transplant.

Congratulations! We're all very proud of you. I can only imagine all the emotions around the transplant olympics. I bet you need a week just to recover when you get home. Safe travels!

OK, kids, now the word is out. If Midge challenges you to ping pong at the next HCMA meeting, look out.

Mark, yes these are games where if you don't test positive for steroids, they kick you out. It was really a lot of fun.

Hey Midge, congratulations...being a 'burgher I knew the games were taking place here but didn't realize you were participating. I would have come and cheered you on....not that you know me...just an occasional blogger. I do appreciate everyone's support here though. Again, congratulations!!

Midge,

Congratulations! That is so cool.

If I had known you were gonna be in my area I would have come and cheered you on. I live just about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh and my cardiologist is at UPMC Presbyterian near campus there. I fall way behind on the board sometimes and did not know you were competing.

You go, girl!
