I am back and got good news. He said not much has changed from my echo 2 yrs. ago. There's still no gradient and no obstruction. All output looks good. No changes on EKG. He said I did have some slightly bigger measurements from the last time, but nothing he would be alarmed about. He did not change my meds. He said I needed to get more exercise and start being a little bit more cautious about what I eat, as far as fast foods and such. I had gained 8 lbs. since I saw him last summer............So, he said no changes at this time and he'd see me next summer. So, I'm feeling better about all that. I was a nervous wreck this morning!! So, should I be concerned w/ the changes in measurements? He didn't tell me exactly where they were. I will see that when I get my copy of the report. He just said they were minimal and that measurements change w/ every echo. What kind of concerned me though was on my x-ray I could see a difference from the one last summer!
I also talked with Dr. Ommen ( he is the nicest man) he said he saw no need in repeating the genetic testing at this time because the Mayo is affiliated w/ Familion and they would run the same panels as they ran and the Mayo even ran some more that they wouldn't run. I asked him if I was a rare case since they couldn't find my gene and he said that is how about 50% of the cases are going right now. He said he'd be glad to look at the boys echos and EKG's. So, I'm going to get on that now and get that to him!
