I was looking at the HCM specialty centers and noticed there was one in San Antonio. I never knew that! I live a lot closer to San Antonio than to the Mayo in Rochester. Has anyone been there? How does it compare to the Mayo Clinic?

Hello! We've not been there before, so I apologize for not being able to answer, but my husband has an appointment with Dr. Feldman on August 4th and I'd be interested to hear anyone who has seen him as well!

Hi Marki! Where is Dr. Feldman located? Is he in San Antonio? Are you taking your son too? Best of luck!

hi...........
i don't get on here much anymore........
i see Dr. Feldman and like/trust him very much..........
don't know if anyone remembers me or not from a couple years back..
i was wanting children....did ivf in texas (before diagnosis) and it failed..
husband has sperm issues....
was diagnosed w/hcm..sister died in 2000 at 38 another sister w/hcom..
started seeing dr. feldman and he supported my pursuing pregnancy...
did research..went to brno in the czech republic...used donated eggs (did not want to possibly pass on hcm gene) and donated sperm ...had two embyos transferred into my uterus.........gained 90 pounds but gave birth to beautiful boy/girl twins two days before x-mas 07.....
did beautifully thru pregnancy........carried twins 37 weeks...had them..sent home after 4 days in hospital...........................
DESPITE the fact that i had not laid down in over two days..complaining of EXTREME sob...could not even hold my babies.......dr.s were aware of my hcm (doctor on call refused to deliver unless it was emercency...she went off call w/in 25 mins...doc that did deliver said when sending me home that she saw my echo and thought i was diagnosed based on family history as she saw no evidence of hcm (i knew better) she had given me six different anti-anxiety and/or sleeping pills...........as she said my blood pressure and heart were fine..she said i was sob because of antiety of having twins..and that is also why i had not laid down or slept in over two days....i was drowning...IDIOT...............sent home...........110 pounds before pregnany 200 at delivery 197 when taken to the emergency room 36 hours after my release in full blow congestive heart failure (never been so scared)
THANK GOD for the ER doc...............got me all better over a week......
been home with my babies for 6 months...............
WOW......
take care everyone,
maddy

Hi!! Ok - we just got done (today) with a heart cath for my husband - local cardio felt it would be an appropriate test for him, though no blockages were found - we're told his "conduction" system isn't working as well as it should. I'm assuming this means "I'm just a cardio and I'm not entirely sure how to help you." So - the original appointment was August 4th, but we got a call yesterday that it was being pushed back to August 11th, but yes, it's with Dr. Feldman and he's in San Antonio. :)
We also found out today that Zak (son) has an appointment with Dr. Towbin at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston, TX on July 17th! YAY! :)
Good luck - and let me know what's going on!!
