As I have said before - I am far from perfect - someday maybe I will be perfect but today is not the day and tomorrow aint lookin to good either...
That being said - I have made an error in the agenda that has actually worked out to our advantage!
You may have noticed on May 30 the first sessions start at 4:15 and run to 5:15 and then there is a 1 hour break - this was not suppose to be the case - so we had an hour of open time - so we filled it with a new session - "Genetic Testing and your options" There will be presentations from 3 labs that currently or will soon offer genetic testing for HCM. The presentations will be 15 minutes each and will serve as a base for you to understand what each lab can offer you and how they differ. This session along with the content on Saturday should serve as a great foundation to help families find the lab that best fits their needs.

I hope you all enjoy this new feature to the meeting!

Only a few more days until the 11th Annual meeting! We are looking forward to seeing you all soon.

We have a change to the agenda that we wanted to give you some time to prepare for. On Friday, May 30, 2008 we have added a session at 5:15 to 6:15 entitled Genetic Testing Options. Last week a new company launched an HCM testing panel and in July a 4th company will come online with test – that will make 4 different testing labs for the consumer. The HCMA has invited each of them to provide a 15 minute overview of there testing options, payment systems and company information. The HCMA does not endorse one company over any other and wants to make sure that you have all of your options clearly presented.

The “Genetic Testing Options” program will take place in the Manhattan Room of the Hyatt Conference Center, there will be seating for 100 which should fit us all, however I would suggest your prompt arrival so that you do not miss any of the data and get a seat!

We have planned a great weekend for you all and know that you will become better educated about HCM and find a few new friends too!

Best wishes,
Lisa Salberg

Last minute addition!
Dr. Rachel Lampert from Yale will be presenting a research spotlight about her ICD registry - Dr. Lampert has started a registry to monitor ICD's in young active people who still participate in some sports post ICD implant. She will present a reseach spotlight directly after Dr. Ho's talk on research - it will be the final research spotlight of the day.

See ya soon!
