Anyone from Indiana with HCM

I am not sure if I put this topic in here or not. I am from indinana amd have HCM. I am wanting to find other people from indiana with HCM? As it stand noiw i don't know anyone who has HCM in indiana. I am in Indianapolis. What city are you in?

I live in Muncie, Indiana and work in an office off 96th street in Indianapolis. I'm a 41 year old female with three kids (2 at IU and one at Delta High School). I was diagnosed with HCM about 18 months ago.
I'm still new at this myself, but let me know if I can help.

Hi Kim,
Ilive in Greenfield, was diagnosed at 13 (now 35). I see a doc with Eastside Cardiology. Has rights at the Heart Center up on the north side (very important). He's also part of the Care Group, good for insurance.

Hi Kim,

Like you, I would like to meet others from Indiana that are dealing with this disease. I am from Connersville....a small town SE of Indy. I was diagnosed by Dr. Fetters of the Care Group (in Indy) in 2001 at the age of 52. Dr. Wrobleski put my ICD in at St Vincents Dec. 2005.

While they are good doctors, I finally made the decision to go to an HCM Center of Excellence and be checked by a specialist. I met with Dr. Lever at Cleveland Clinic on 10/24/2008. He is GREAT!! After a through exam and a full day of testing, he recommended a myectomy. I am scheduled to have Dr. Smedira perform the surgery on Dec. 5th.

While I do feel anxiety, this site has helped me to understand how much a myectomy can relieve my symptoms and improve my life. My greatest hope is to be able to do many more things with my 5 year old granddaughter, Erica Jolie! :big_scho:She is my sunshine and my goal is to live (not just exist) long enough to see her grown (and maybe even a great grandbaby lol)
