I had my first visit to an HCM Dr. at UCLA med center. The recommendation came from Lisa Salberg. After the iinitial introduction and background information he proceeded to grab my arm (gently) and walk me up and down the hall , rapidly, and up a couple of flights of stairs, and then in the stairwell got out his stethoscope and listened to my heart. "Just checking", he said, and smiled. "Yes, I think we can help you, let go back to the office and we'll define the plan"....so I was happy to hear this. We've got to redo a Stress Ultrasound previously done in Las Vegas since the data was not all that good. After this test and the readings by an expert in looking at HCM ultrasounds, we'll have a lot better idea of where we are and where we are going. This will be a first after 7 months of flailing around with my local Cardiologist.

So, thumbs up to Lisa's recommendation and we'll see where we are in a month. The start was a good one.

Doug, I am so glad you were able to get to UCLA and get started down the right path for your HCM. I am sure this will help alleviate some concerns and fears that you are naturally feeling. Keep us posted.
