Okay, don't ask me why I named this thread that. I'm just here to say hi and ask how is everyone. Well, Marching Band is over for me and now I have more time on my hands. I got a computer for my room, for an early holiday gift. When I get it up and the internet running, this website will be one of my first bookmarks.

Anyway, if anyone who is younger than me and resently dignosed with HCM, feel be free to ask me any questions.

I will be getting my driver's permit in 3 months (yay!) and I'm wondering if people who have to take medicine can donate organs if they die (knock on wood!). Answers?

Jamie - Yes, people who take medicine can absolutely donate organs when they die. I have just become an organ donor myself when I renewed my driver's license. They put a pink dot on it which means organ donor.

A close friend of mine was recently in a fatal automobile accident...actually, he was hit by a car while crossing the street. Because he had that pink dot on his license, they knew that he wanted to be an organ donor, and they were able to give several of his organs, including his heart, to people in need. He had asthma, and took several medications for that. I also know of people who have died of a drug overdose who have been donors, so, yes, and it is a wonderful thing to do.
