Hey...
first of all this is just me venting after another boring day. If you don't want to hear it I understand.
I have a Timex heart rate monitor that I wear every fourth day to school (that's when gym is.) It is really helpful and I love having it, but sometimes I get really annoyed with the darn thing. I put this in the hang out because only a kid could understand this(if even them). The Timex beeps constantly all of the time you are wearing it. The beeping is so high-frequency that adults can't hear it. Also, usually other kids can't hear it because they aren't quiet enough, but as I write this I guarantee you I can hear it. Have you ever heard this? It is not bad or anything because it is just the way the device works(I think), but it is agitating after a long enough period of time.
That's all.
Thanks for reading all the way through my rant!
See ya.

Hi, Emily,

I am sure you are right, even though I am definitely not a kid and much too old to hear something like this. But when I was your age, I lived in an old house that had bats that also lived in the house and came down through the chimneys into my bedroom at night. My sister and I could hear their supposedly ultrasonic chirps. My parents could not hear these, of course, so they would insist there were no bats in the room unless they could see them flying. Many nights my sister and I would lie with a sheet over our heads trying to pinpoint the location of the bats so we could pinpoint it to our parents before we went to awaken them. All I can say to cheer you up is to remember that your monitor was invented by people who probably think it doesn't make any noise, since they cannot hear it.

I went to the store to look at monitors & some had chest straps, a few didn't, but none said anything about chirping! I wasn't ready to commit to such a purchase yet anyway. Why don't you write the good folks at Timex and ask them? Perhaps its a setting, or there may be an overide.

Let them know why and when you wear it. It could be helpful for them to know. You never know, they may take interest & create new model and I hope they call it the OrangeEM!
