Hey everyone! I'm back. I started 10th grade this week. I'm in marching band again and the jerkwad I ranted about last year has the baritone sax.

I play alto this year because the band director wanted me to. There was only 3 other altos anyway. I want the bari because I got extremely attached to it. I still play on the sidelines because now I'M worried about my heart (it's a good reason, people who march in our band faint alot in the heat...not kidding). I wouldn't be so mad if JERKWAD BOY wasn't such a show off. If I don't get bari next year, I'll just march with me alto.

I have a 504 plan for school but nearly all my classes have NO AIR CONDITIONING.

I get my driver's permit in February.

I guess that's it. Will write again later.

Hi Jamie

I'm glad to see that you continued being a part of the band even though you couldn't participate with playing the sax you wanted to. My son played the alto sax throughout high school and was very proud and dedicated. I assume your band director knows of your dedication and ability by asking you to play sax. NO MATTER how much the other ......... shows off....remember the band director asked you to play.....the question is.......would the band director ask HIM to play should the shoe be on the other foot??? So, as you play your sax raise your head high, with pride.
Congratulations for not letting HIM get the best of you.

LOL I remember when my son start playing alto sax. He would practice just about every night. I encourged him and told him he was doing so well, BUT there were times I couldn't wait until his practicing was finished for the night because of the high pitches his horn made. I even talked my daughter into sitting through some of his sessions until she made excuses that she had homework to do (lucky her...LOL). All-in-all the sound, no matter how horrible I thought it was at the time, it is something I will always remember, because it was MY son learning something new and how determined he was to do his best. His best he did..he made second chair for the alto sax section in the county band concert. A BIG accomplishment for any student!
