I have decided this is where I should have posted the information on my husband having theses procedures done on Feb. 15 at Mayo. I spoke with Lisa back in September and she gave the names of doctors At Mayo and also Cleveland Clinic. Troy has known about his disease for 30 year. He has gone to the same cardiologist for 20 years and it was never mentioned about going to see a HCM specialist. Troy has IHSS. Both of our children have it also. I looked up on the internet and found your site. This is when I spoke with Lisa.

Troy went to see Dr. Ommen at Mayo on Jan. 8 and then returned for his myectomy and MAZE procedures on Feb. 15. Dr. Schaff was his surgeon. Troy is doing great. We got home on Friday, Feb. 23 and he is walking quite a bit and feeling better every day.

I want to get this information out to people in our area of the country. (We live in West Texas)..I know there has to be a lot other people just like us, not knowing there is help out there.

I can never thank you enough for in the information!

God Bless You all,
Troy & Sue Howard

I'm really glad the HCMA was able to help you get the help you needed. I hope your children will see a specialist too. Have you thought about taking a trip in June? The HCMA has an annual meeting in NJ every June. It might be worth your time. There will be many HCM specialists there and tons of others with HCM for you to meet in person.

Glad to hear Troy is recovering quite well. Give it a couple more weeks and he'll be a new man.

We hope to hear more good news over the next few weeks.

Troy,
Welcome to the Myectomy Club
