Hello all,
I am planning on running a marathon this fall and decided it might be a good idea to see if I might be able to use the experience as a way to raise money for HCM research, education and community outreach. I lost my younger brother just about three years ago so this cause is close to my heart.
And yes, I am undergoing a physical including an EKG and Echo before I start training in earnest (and have been checked out the last two years as well). With that, a few questions:
1) Given my family history, can anyone suggest any additional examinations I should have prior to training? Should I see a cardiologist or is a GP sufficient?
2) Does anyone have any experience organizing a fundraising drive through a road race?
Thanks very much in advance for any help.
Kevin
