Every day I take Midodrine to up my blood pressure. About one hour after taking it the top of my head starts to itch. The Cardiologist auggested I take Benedryl, which I do. If I have to take the Midrodrine always. I am going to have one sore scalp. Does anyone else have a similiar problem and how to help the itching?

There has to be a better answer than benadryl. If you're allergic to it, which I think you're suggesting, you don't know when it will start to affect you with hives, breathing problems, or worse. Ask your doctor for something else.
I would worry about this drug, too. It works by constricting the blood vessels, therefore raising blood pressure. There are other drugs you might be able to try that don't cause you to itch.

geniekid,
Ask your doctor about fludrocortisone. That worked very well for me at getting my bp up and I don't recall having any side effects from it. And if I'm not mistaken it does not cause the vaso-constriction as midodrine does. The midodrine raised my pressure but threw me into chf so it didn't get used for long on me.
hope this helps
