Good news! The verapamil is holding so far. We haven't had any signs of a-flutter or fib yet this week. He felt well enough to go to our company picnic. He just sat at a picnic table, but he made it out to see everyone and didn't have to take the oxygen. We only stayed for two hours. There was a nice breeze and a tent over the tables. He's in bed now wore out from the outing.

It's just so nice to see him out with all the kids and talking to others. All of ya'lls prayers have given us positive progress. Thanks for ya'lls continued support. It truley means the world to us! Li' Tomy opted out of tubing. He will go swimming and fishing tomorrow in the creek. For the first time in months my family is able to go outside together to enjoy ourselves. Even though it may only be for an hour or so, it's better than seeing him in the bed on the oxygen 90% of the time.

God Bless!

I'm happy that the day went well for you even if it was only for a few hours. I have to say a couple of hours in the fresh air is better than none and being in the bed all day. Tell Lil' Tommy good idea to opt out of the tubing, if the weather there is anything like it is here...Hot and blazing sun...out on open water floating down a river. Not on my list of things to do HCM or not.

We are twelve days out from the last verapamil increase and still holding sinus rythmm. Praise God!!! He has developed a problem with his legs. The leg that the graft came from is now swollen. We are testing for a clot, possible phlebitis. He's taking 120mg of lasix a day and now having significant swelling again. can't stand for long without building up fluid.

He has a stess test tomorrow for the start of his cardiac rehab. I doubt he'll be able to do it, due to his legs. Praying for a better day tomorrow and an answer from the testing.

God Bless!

sherry Glad to here about the med help and the improvement. the leg swelling hopefully is temporary and have had it also along with the high doses of lasix.. I can relate and hope for a quick resolution and reduction in the dosage for lasix.
