Well, we are leaving today for Louisville. For those of you who do not know I will be partcipating in the National Transplant Games. They are games for people who have received life saving organ transplants. I plan to do the 5K walk with my husband, daughter and my donor's mom. Then on Sunday I will be swimming in 4-5 different events. This is such a miracle for me that I cannot believe I am getting to do it. If not for the wonderful gift of life that my donor's family gave I would not be here today. I thank God daily for my life that I have today and remember David and his family daily. I am not in this to win a medal (but that would be really cool) I just am doing this becaus I am alive to do it. These games are every 2 years so maybe in 2 years, those of us transplanteed HCM'ers could all go. Rob, Esther this can be a goal for you. I will try and post from Louisville. Thanks for all your support.

Wow, Midge! You're such an inspiration to all of us, whether we ever need to think about transplants or not. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in the swimming, but I hope you really enjoy the 5K the most. That time with your family and David's mom will be special.

Midge,

It was a pleasure meeting you. You show everyone who has a heart transplant what you can do. Good luck down in Louisville.

Midge,

It was great to meet you. I wish you the best in Louisville. My physical therapist Chris Wells will be there to help the participants from PA. She has told me all about the games and how inspiring the athletes are. Looking forward to hearing about Louiville from you. Enjoy your time with David's mom.

the games were awesome. We met so many incredible people. Donors were there from all over as well as recipients. They had lots of programs for donors and their families. I walked the 5K with my donors mom. What an honor. My daughter and husband walked/ran it and were waiting at the finish line for a very emotional finish for me. My swimming was difficult but I did it. I did not medal but that was not what it was all about. I would encourage anyone who has had a transplant of any organ to attend these games it is so rewarding. Of course you need to take a box of kleenex. It truly shows that transplantation saves lives. Thanks all for your support

Midge,
Congratulations! What a testimony you have, and what an awesome experience. My sister had her heart transplant one week ago today, and she is doing fabulously. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration and for sharing with us!

Midge sorry you didn't get a medal, but just to do it must have been the reward.

Midge.

I am so happy you were able to be at the games and do so well. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be debilitated, needing a transplant, and now to be so active. You are truly a courageous role model!

Peace,

Leon

We are very proud of Midge and all she has accomplished!

Ok so it was a self appointed title - I am sure Scott wants to fight me for the title - maybe we can have an election;-)
