Please join me online here on the message board this Friday at 4:36pm. Friday, June 16, 2006 at 4:36pm is the 11th anniversary of the passing of my sister Lori. Heck...invite your friends and families to join us too!
Most of you did not know Lori - a few of you were lucky and did. The HCMA is here because of Lori and I do want to make sure that everyone remembers that important fact. As I type this a white butterfly has been dancing outside my window - Lori is here.
The difficult part of this year's anniversary is the days of the week - they match. Lori had her arrest on Monday June 12 and stay in a coma until Friday June 16 when at 4:36pm her cardiologist kissed her forehead and said good-bye...his method of pronouncing her was unorthodox but heart felt and I will always remember his compassion.
Also as you remember Lori with me please remember she was an organ donor, giving her kindeys and liver to 3 others. Please sign your organ donor cards and let your families know you wish to share life with others in the event of your death.
Let the beat go on and on and on...
Thank you all,
Lisa

Lisa, I wont be able to join on the board on Fri. but I will take a minute at that time to say a prayer for Lori and your family. As I walk in the 5K walk on Sat for Transplant recipients and donor families I will remember Lori. Take Care.

I will be remembering Lori and how fortunate I was to have known her. Lisa, you will never know all the things I learned from her about you. She would either be laughing or just shaking her head in amazement as she told tales of her little sis. Linda

I will definately do my best to be here with you on Friday, BUT if for some reason I can not I have set me personal alarm to beep and I will take a moment to think of her and remember that she is the reason why we are on this new mission to spread the word.
Much love,

Yes - Lori would shake her head often when telling the tales of her little sisters latest adventures! Much in the same way I would shake my head when telling her stories...someday I will share them with you all - Lori was a sweet heart but also a bit dizzy and silly. Lori often made us all laugh, I think that is what I miss the most.
Thanks everyone... today is the day we met with the transplant team and knew that organ donation was what Lori would have wanted. It was the most surreal experience of my life. To this day 11 years later I am very happy to know that Lori gave life to 3 people and that today 2 of them are still here.
Hope to see you online tomorrow.

Lisa,
Tommy & I will be online with you today. We thank God for Lori and you. Both of you have touched and changed so many of our lives! We will continue to spread the word and this mission will succeed!
Isn't it amazing on how they come back to us to let us know that they are still with us. I know when "Buzz" is around by the butterflies or the gently gust of wind that just appear out of no where.
Even though I never had the honor to meet Lori in person, I could see her telling those stories about you. God be with you and your family today and may he lift ya'll up and comfort you.
Love and prayers!
Sherry

I woke this morning and the date raced into my mind. I was filled with the saddness - those of you who have lost a loved one know the feeling.
As the morning moved on I thought about last weekend and how the world has changed over the past 11 years. I thought of all the people helped because of Lori and in that I take great comfort. The year races by and I do not talk about Lori all that much with you here on the board, as it should be. But today is her day the day she left us and helped us find all of you.
I love ya Lori and miss you every day.
Hope to see you on the board this afternoon.

Lisa,
Rose and I are thinking about what a wonderful thing your sister did to bring us all together like this. We have met so many wonderful people and know it is just the beginning. Thank you for running the HCMA and giving us hope and information. We will be in touch after we get back from vacation on the 28th. --Donna
Hi Lisa it's Rose and now it's my turn to type. I wish I could have known your sister, she sounds like she was an amazing person. You do so much for the HCM community it's unbelievable. I just wanted to personally thank you for everything you do for me, and everyone else. It's really something special when one person goes out of their way to help thousands of other people. Keep up the good work, and I'll be sure to see you this summer. --Rose

We love you and all that you do for the HCMA and our families!

A special thank you to Lori, I know you would have chosen to stay in this world if you could have. I am sorry you had to go.
May the inspiration that started 10 years ago, from your passing give your family the biggest hug from many arms across this planet . Through Lisa, your little sis, you have helped more people then any one person could have imagined.
Many prayers and blessings to you Lori and to your loving family as they remember you today and pay tribute to you and the "special idea" that you had.

Thanks to an idea that Lori had, Lisa has helped and will continue to help countless people. Thanks for helping me and my family. We are forever grateful.
Lisa, I didn't know Lori--and I do know you and the legacy she left through you and your efforts. I am continually amazed by the network of support you have woven both here in the virtual world and out in the "real" world. Thank you--to you, to Lori, and to all of you who share your energy and hope with each other.

Lisa -
Thanks for sharing so much about Lori - and for dedicating your efforts to her memory. Also, it is quite a tribute to name the new HCMA Award, presented for the first time to Dr. Barry Maron at last week's 10th Anniversary Annual Meeting, the LORI award.
I can think of no higher honor than to name an award recognizing inovation in HCM research after Lori.
Thanks again for all you do.

Lisa.
I was not able to be here at 4:36, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Also I cannot think of anything in the world that is more honoring to Lori than the wonderful work you have undertaken and invited the rest of us to join you in.
I recall all too well the surreal feelings of knowing now is the time to let a loved one go. Those memories are always with us. May God grant you peace today and may Lori's memory be eternal to all of us who know her story and those to whom we tell her story.
Peace,
Leon
