Esther Update

[Midge Rollins]

I just spoke with Esther. She is still in hospital. Is out of ICU and her heart is functioning well. Unfortunately, her kidneys are not doing well. She is on dialysis 7 days a week. The Dr.'s are hoping they kick back in. She thinks next week she may get to go to the Gift of Life House (mayo transplants home away from home). Her voice sounds weak but hopeful. She thanks us all for our prayers and thoughts and I told her we would keep them coming.

Hi all, Esther's husband just called me. We need to keep Esther in our prayers. She is in complete kidney failure and unless a major miracle occurs she will need a kidney transplant. They knew going in that her kidney's were a concern unfortunately they were right. The other thing is that about 2 weeks ago she had a stroke. One side of her body (Right I think) is affected. Dave said that it is coming back and she is doing so much better in the last couple of days. She is still having some confusion. They hope to move her to the rehab floor this next week. So, please keep them both in our prayers. The caregivers have a rough time watching a loved one go through all this. The good news is her heart is working great. God bless all donors.

I am sorry to here of Esther's troubles. I wish her and her loved ones much strength and comfort right now. With all my heart I am hoping for that 'major miracle' for her kidneys to regain life.
