Hi guys well I will be celebrating 8 years post transplant on April 6th. I just had my approx 75th bx and all is well, 0 as a matter a fact. This year I won't need an angiogram I graduated to an echo. As long as that is ok then no cath.Even though this is great news I can't seem to find a way to celebrate. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She is doing amazinly well but it's hard to be happy for me and sad for her at the same time. O.K. no more sadness. I have never had the oppertunity to know my donor family, their choice. Every year we celibrate her gift by doing something for someone else and last year my son and his friends collected a ton of things to give to a childrens Hosp in honor of my donor and Lisa's sister Lori. Unfortionatly things didn't go as planned and the stuff has been in my basement and growing. Well finally we found a place for everything. My husbands company lost an oil rig during Katrina and many lost their homes so today a truck from the company picked up everything from clothes, blankets, toys, videos and many other things to be delivered to a facility that will find a place for everything. God bless all donor families!!!!!!

Karen.
Thanks for letting us know about your mom. We can all pray for her and your family.
What a touching way to share the things you wanted to donate. Sometimes I feel like as soon as something is no longer front page we so easily forget.
May you have many, many years sharing love with all you meet.
Peace,
Leon

Wow time flies my friend! I can not believe it has been 8 years, seems like yesterday we spoke on the phone from the hospital. I recall that call so clearly - I am glad we got you out of there and into great care!!!
My thoughts are with you!

Karen,
Congradulations! Sorry about your mom. I'll keep you both in my prayers. I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for recognizing and celebrating us donor families. We don't get a lot of that. It truly makes a diffrence to hear people say "thank you."
Love and Prayers!
