Hi all, just a note to say be careful when out and about. I had my flu shot as I have done for 30+ years. However a week ago today I came down with what has turned out to be flu A. I would have not been surprised to get it last year being my first winter out though I wore masks while at church and in large crowds both of which I was at last Sun without a mask. They are not sure if my flu shot wore off or just because I was lucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But believe me when I say you do not want this stuff. The fevers have left. I am really weak but today I at least think I may live not 100 % sure yet. The cough and body aches take their toll. The good news I have laid and watched the flu channel alot. So, when I feel like eating and cooking again I have great ideas. So, you new transplants wear those masks even though you don't like them.

Hi Midge
I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. I know when I got my flu shot this year I was told that there are so many types of flu out there and that the flu shot I got will not cover all of them.
Take care of yourself, I am still looking forward to meet you.

Shirley, please stay away from your granddaughter! I don't care if they do need you to babysit they need you alive more than they need you to babysit.
And Midge, I am not sure that I ever want to eat at your home if you are watching the "flu channel" and getting lots of ideas for cooking. Get well, so you can watch the food channel! (My, I miss those smilies!)

Midge,
Take care of yourself and feel better that's an order :). I am bad in the fact that I don't wear a mask when I go out. I did at the beginning but haven't lately. I use hand sanitizer constantly. Germs are everywhere. I try to stay away if people even cough or sneeze but I think now is the time and I should carry masks with me just in case. The hospital told me if I get a cold it could turn into pneumonia and I've had that in the past and I know it's not fun.
