Erection Vs propranolol and Verapamil

Hi to all,

I need a rescue mission from this forum.

For my HOCM condition, I have been taken propranolol and Verapamil for a while and those medications are helping me well but they ruined my sex life. I was wondering if anyone experienced similar problems and what were the solutions. This problem is sending me into depression. :cry:

This is a side effect ob some beta blockers. You might be able to try a different medicine instead of the propanolol to see if it helps.

Cardiac medications can alter ones sex life. This is not uncommon and shoudl be discussed with your doctor. You may want to try a different beta blocker and see if that helps. If the change of medications do not make a difference you may want to talk to a mental health professional, not because there is anything "wrong" with you but the stress of having a chronic health condition along with the medications may be at the root of your problem.

Many times these problems are short lived, do not panic. It is possible and expected for those with HCM to have a normal sex life.
