I have just spoken to the Medical Examiner on the Jason Collier case. They had press conference earlier today and made public several issues including Mr. Collier had an enlarged heart, mitral valve abnormalities, an arrythmia caused his death. The heart has been sent to the Jessie Edwards Registery in St Paul for further evaluation and genetic testing will be conducted by the Siedman Genetics lab at Harvard.
In 2003 and 2005 Mr. Collier had abnormal EKG's and NO further follow up.
As per the ME this case is sounding more like HCM, but further testing is needed.
Rest in Peace Jason Collier - we will continue to look for answers to stop this from happening again.
