I started working 4 hrs. a day, 5 days a week on Monday. When I got home from work I was so tired and short of breath that I would nap until my husband came home. Sometimes I wouldn't make dinner.
The stress from my boss was UNREAL and he knew how I was feeling.
I went to work on Tuesday, again the same as Monday. I called in ill on Wednesday and decided that I just couldn't continue this way.
I called my boss on Thursday and told him I resigned. He said, I'm disapponted in you". My answer was, "I'm disappointed in you, too". I am kinda disappointed in me too. I have worked for over 20 yrs. and find it difficult leaving my employment when there was so much to do (because of me being in PA for over a week) and I always felt I didn't want to be dependent on anyone or any organization.
I have filed for SSI and have an appointment on Nov. 3rd to speak with someone on the telephone.
Thank you for reading.
Take care

Please do not feel guilty for doing what you need to do! We are all rooting for you to get a new heart and move on to a place in your life when you can do whatever you want and need to do.

Esther,
Sometimes you just *have* to go ahead and do what is right for *you*. From what you've described it seems to me you definitely made the right choice.
Based on my own experience I think you'll find that all those other things you have to do to take care of yourself will be a little easier now without having to deal with work stress. In my experience you'll have to give yourself a little time to recover from all of these recent stresses before you feel better about the whole thing.
Good luck with the disability claim.
Best wishes,
Rob

You Have to take care of yourself. Please do not feel guilty. You need to keep as healthy as possible both physically and mentally and it sounds like this boss was not a lot of help. You take care.

Esther,
I agree with everyone here -- please do not feel guilty.
You take care of you, that is what is most important.
Take the help that you need.

Dear Esther,
I think it is good you resigned and stand up for your rights for SSI. If you need an advocate for one we are all here for you. I know what it is like. I worked at a superwalmart working from 7-4 and then 2 till 11:30 pm and it is difficult to be on the feet hours on end. If there is one thing I have learned health comes first. We are all here for you. Rest and I am praying you get the SSI. God bless you.
