I don't know why, but I always feel more comfortable talking to my cat about my heart. I know he doesn't understand me, but feel better that way. It makes me happier than talking to people my age. Does anyone feel the same way I do, talking to your pets? I hope people do the same thing.

Lots of people feel better when they talk to their pets. Part of that is because the pets don't treat you any differently than they did before you had your chat with them. It's also been proven that pets help relieve some of the stress of living with chronic conditions. Keep talking to your cat. He might not understand all you're saying to him but he does appreciate the time you're spending with him. :)

I knew that cats could get HCM. I get Cat Fancy and they had an article about it.

I thought I was the only one that talked to the cat....I have had my cat for 15 years and he has been there through some of the most trying times in my life. He was there for me when my father died of cancer 14 years ago, he has been there for everything under the sun and moon.
Keep talking to the cat because you would be surprised you may have a day when the cat actually seems to know what you are talking about. Also it has been proven that pets are great stress relievers. I know when I am having a bad day listening to my cat purr relaxes me, even if it is only for a little while.
