I have a question, regarding what anxiety medications can be taken by someone with HCM. What is your take on a person with HCM taking 15mg of Buspar daily for anxiety?

I too am not too familiar with regards to HCM patients using Buspar. It has relatively vague CV side effects and at the low dose of 15 mgs may be fine. I would just carefully work with ones cardiologist and self monitor effects and symptom changes carefully and report all changes . There is another forum called Heart Forum in which you can post a question and one of the docs at the Cleveland Clinic will offer advise , this could offer added advise to you. Bottom line , make sure the cardiologist is familiar with HCM and use of such meds.

I took Buspar for a few months about four years ago - before I was diagnosed but definitely while still having symptoms. I did not notice any change as far as my heart was concerned, but of course I was not watching for this.
